The Institute of Life Sciences (hereinafter referred to as IoLS) is a structural subdivision of the university (hereinafter referred to as KMU), which carries out planning, organization, provision of educational and research activities of IoLS, research teams of the university and other scientific organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, implementation of bachelor's degree educational programs in the group of educational programs "Biological and related Sciences" and postgraduate education (master's degree, doctoral studies)

The main tasks of IoLS:
- Planning, organization, and coordination of the university's scientific and innovative activities;
- Monitoring the implementation of the university's scientific and innovative research;
- Methodological support for the university's scientific and innovative activities;
- Identification of industrial and intellectual property objects and ensuring their legal protection;
- Professional editorial support for the university's publishing activities;
- Organization of the accounting for the university's scientific and innovative achievements;
- Planning, organization, and coordination of the main activities of the Institute of Life Sciences (IoLS) regarding the strategy for development and implementation of educational programs;
- Development and implementation of educational programs;
- Organization, planning, support, and control of the educational process, scientific activities in the framework of developing independent research skills among students;
- Development of measures for expanding international cooperation to implement joint educational programs, academic mobility for students, and international projects;
- Organization and control of educational work;
- Planning, organization, and control of the work on the distribution and employment of graduates;
- Planning, organization, and implementation of scientific research at IoLS, publication of scientific outputs;
- Implementation of fundamental and applied research according to the IoLS research plan, publication of scientific outputs;
- Conducting fundamental and applied research based on requests from external organizations under contract;
- Provision of the educational process and scientific research at KMU departments and divisions, as well as external educational institutions and organizations, with laboratory animals;
- Organization and supervision of student research;
- Planning and implementation of scientific and pedagogical staff training;
- Implementation of scientific research according to the research plan, publication of scientific outputs.
