Youth Science - Your Personal
Path to Professional and Career Development
Regardless of whether you are going to link your future career with science, learning how to conduct research is a necessary step for those who are going to be a successful and in-demand specialist.
As a research student, you will hone transferable skills such as critical thinking, problem identification and solving, written and oral communication skills, and time management; establish valuable connections with other research students, scientists at Karaganda Medical University and other scientific organizations; have the opportunity to delve into a topic that cannot be It is considered in detail in the courses of your specialty; and learn how to apply the knowledge of your discipline in a specific context or even in another discipline.
It is a common misconception among students that research requires advanced knowledge beyond the scope of a bachelor's major, but this is not true. In fact, it's never too early to start.
This platform serves as a hub for students to find research opportunities of all kinds and in all fields of study: from natural and physical sciences through mathematics and engineering to social sciences and humanities.
On the basis of our university, the work of scientific circles is carried out, which you can get acquainted with here.
In addition, you can get involved in scientific projects conducted by scientists of our university. The description of the projects can be found HERE.
Many teachers of our university are happy to hire research students. Teachers often describe their research interests and initiatives on the Internet, so the pages of schools and departments are a good place to start. If you find a teacher whose interests match yours, you can attend his classes, read his research publications, attend his symposiums and lectures, and attend his office hours to chat with him and find out if you would be a good fit.
To successfully complete a master's/doctoral degree, it is necessary to determine in advance the topic of a possible study. Master's degree research directions are published on the pages of schools. To determine the research project in the doctoral program, you can familiarize yourself with the areas of research that are conducted at the university.
If you have your own idea, you can contact the science department for advice on the design and search for a potential supervisor

Activities of the Council of People's Commissars and its members:
Founders and history of the creation of the Council of People's Commissars of pathophysiology:
The scientific activity of students at the Department of Pathological Physiology of Karaganda Medical University began from the day of its foundation (1986). Yakov Aronovich Lazaris was the head of the department at the Karaganda State Medical Institute (1951-86). In 1986–87 he was the scientific supervisor at this institute.
Lazaris' scientific works are devoted to the system and pathology of carbohydrate metabolism, pneumonia, diabetes and toxicology. More than 200 scientific publications, including 4 monographs.
Over the 35-year period of the circle's work, such problems as marginal pathology, the influence of exogenous environmental factors on the blood system, hepatotoxicity, immunopathology, pathophysiology of terminal and extreme conditions were studied.
Scientific research of the Department of Pathological Physiology is devoted to the study of pathogenetic aspects of diabetes mellitus, pulmonary pathology, disorders of water-salt metabolism and the study of the mechanisms of manifestation of inflammatory processes in general.
From the first days of the Chair's foundation there is a student scientific circle, the members of which are more than 1500 students. Over 100 student works were presented at the competition and were highly appreciated. Many of them were awarded prizes, and three of them were awarded medals, diplomas and certificates.
During the existence of the department, a large galaxy of highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel has grown.
A galaxy of magnificent young people passed through the "O Chase of the Experiment" of the Council of People's Commissars of Pathological Physiology, many of whom became respected masters of healing, chief physicians, candidates of sciences, associate professors, doctors of science, professors, heads of departments and heads of large medical and diagnostic institutions and departments.
The department continues the scientific traditions laid down by its teachers, and currently the research interests of the team are focused on the study of the etiology, pathogenesis of diabetes and their correction, post-COVID syndrome caused by COVID-19, etc. At present, the student scientific circle continues to be active within the walls of the university.

Additionally, first and second-year medical students participated in the Olympiad in Turkestan, passed the qualifying round, and became prizewinners.
In the 2nd semester of the 2023-2024 academic year, a very relevant experimental work was held during the meeting on February 29. The speaker, first-year student Sultanbek Bektyrsynov from group 1019, under the guidance of Bibigul Tulegenovna Chergizova, presented a model of the mechanism of excitation conduction through muscle fibers and nerves. During the experiment, the speaker clearly and accessibly explained the main points and principles of conductivity laws during excitation. All students found it very interesting and expressed interest in continuing such meetings of the Circle at the Department of Physiology.
On April 7, 2024, under the guidance of assistant G.K. Ryspaeva, second-year medical students from group 2001, Yersai Erbolkyzy, Zhanara Zhumabek, and Zhanelya Maralova, held an open meeting of the Circle in Central Park of Karaganda on the topic "Eye Care: Correction or Invasive Method."
