Safety instructions for attending classes at clinical bases
- General provisions
- Students who have completed occupational health and safety training are allowed to attend classes at clinical bases.
- The internal regulations of the medical organization must be strictly observed.
- Follow the instructions of the teacher, the head of the department, the attending physician and the nursing staff.
- It is forbidden to start manipulations without the permission and control of the responsible person.
- Appearance requirements
- It is mandatory to have a clean medical gown, a change of shoes, a medical cap and, if necessary, a mask.
- Hair should be removed, nails should be cut short.
- Jewelry on the hands (rings, bracelets), watches, long earrings are prohibited.
- Availability of personal protective equipment (gloves, mask, goggles/visor) — as indicated.
- Compliance with the sanitary and epidemiological regime
- Mandatory hand hygiene before and after contact with the patient.
- Use of personal protective equipment (mask, gloves) in contact with biological fluids.
- Compliance with the rules of asepsis and antisepsis.
- Immediately inform the teacher about cases of skin damage, injections, cuts, ingestion of biological fluids.
- Safety when working with patients
- Be correct, considerate, and keep medical secrets.
- Do not perform examinations and manipulations without the consent of the patient and the permission of the supervisor.
- Do not turn on or use medical equipment without instruction.
- Be careful when working with piercing and cutting tools.
- Biological and infectious safety
- Consider every patient to be potentially infectious.
- Strictly observe the rules of medical waste management.
- Do not take food and drinks in the compartments.
- Do not take medical records and supplies outside the clinical base.
- Emergency response
- In case of an emergency (fire, smoke), act according to the evacuation plan of the medical organization.
- Inform the teacher or the responsible employee.
- If injured or unwell, seek immediate medical attention.
- Know the location of the first-aid kit, fire extinguishers, and escape exits.
- It is forbidden!
- Independently prescribe treatment to patients.
- Disclose personal data of patients.
- Taking photos and videos without official permission from the administration.
- Stay in clinical departments outside of school hours without approval.
- Responsibility
- Violations of safety regulations, sanitary regulations and internal regulations may result in disciplinary liability in accordance with the university's charter and the rules of the clinical base.
