On February 13, 2026, at the Department of Physiology (Pathophysiology unit) within the module of “Mechanisms of Disease,” a round-table discussion with an educational goal was held on the topic of “Health Is the Foundation of Life: A Sound Mind in a Sound Body” for students of group 3006, specialty “Pediatrics.” The event was conducted under the supervision of Candidate of Medical Sciences, Professor Khamida Rakhimovna Abdikadirova.
The main objective of the event was to integrate students’ theoretical knowledge with clinical reasoning and a scientific approach, as well as to develop skills in the effective application of modern educational technologies in diagnosing pathological processes and establishing well-grounded diagnoses. Special attention was given to the practical use of the RBL (Research-Based Learning) method and to fostering students’ academic independence in accordance with the principles of the Bologna Process.

During the session, the scientific and practical significance of several functional diagnostic tools was thoroughly examined. In particular, the capabilities of spirography in detecting respiratory system pathologies were discussed, along with the role of stress-response assessment tools in scientific research and the use of electrocardiography (ECG) in diagnosing cardiovascular diseases. Students worked on tasks based on specific clinical cases, which contributed to the development of their data interpretation skills and their ability to formulate evidence-based conclusions.
The promotion of a healthy lifestyle was highlighted as one of the key aspects of educational work with students. It was emphasized that the prevalence of respiratory, cardiovascular, blood, and endocrine system diseases among young people makes preventive activities especially important. During the session, risk factors, their negative impact on the body, preventive measures, and principles of early diagnosis were examined in detail. Students were also introduced to modern research and monitoring methods used for preventive and diagnostic purposes.
In conclusion, the participants concluded that a healthy lifestyle represents a systematic and conscious active approach aimed at preserving and strengthening health. The event contributed to the development of students’ scientific interest, as well as to enhancing their professional competence and practical skills.
