On February 12, 2026, a meeting of the debate club (inter-university Student Research Society) was held on the topic of “Diagnosis, treatment and prevention of osteoporosis”.
Students from Karaganda Medical University, Astana Medical University, and South Kazakhstan Medical Academy participated in the debate club among the departments of Family Medicine. Presentations were delivered by clinical fellows Aishuga Abaikyzy Perdebai and Mereke Sapargalikyzy Toktamys from  group 6-029 on the topic of “Diagnostics of osteoporosis: laboratory and instrumental studies” under the guidance of assistant professor from the Department of Family Medicine Lazat Sarsenbayevna Batyrbekova. During the debate, polyetiology of osteoporosis, clinical features in children and adults, late seeking of medical care, difficulties in treatment, early disability of patients of working age have been discussed. Prevention methods were also discussed.
Our goal is to foster clinical fellows' interest in scientific research in medicine.
