Scientific degree: Candidate of Medical Sciences

  • From 1970 to 1976, he studied at the Karaganda State Medical Institute. After completing a cycle in 1978 for primary specialization in neurosurgery at AGIUV in Almaty, Nurtas Isataevich was transferred as a neurosurgeon to the first city hospital in Zhezkazgan. This marks the beginning of a long and fruitful career as a neurosurgeon.
  • From 1983 to 1985, Nurtas Isataevich underwent clinical residency in neurosurgery at KSMI, and after completing it, he continued his work as a neurosurgeon at the 1st city hospital.
  • From 1989 to 2001, he worked as the head of the neurosurgical department at the Zhezkazgan Regional Multidisciplinary Hospital.
  • From July 2001 to September 2002, he worked in Karaganda as the head of the neurosurgical department of KOMLDO. From 2003 to 2007, he served as the chief freelance neurosurgeon of the ODZ Karaganda region.
  • Tursonov N.I. is one of the few who successfully combined practical work as a doctor with science. In 2004, he defended his doctoral thesis at the dissertation commission at the medical institute named after Zh. Asfendiyarov in Almaty. From September 2002 to 2007, following a competition, he was appointed as an associate professor in the course of traumatology, orthopedics, and neurosurgery at the Department of Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Eastern Medicine of the Karaganda State Medical Academy.
  • In 2007, Tursonov N.I. was appointed by the order of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan as the deputy director for scientific and clinical work at the Republican Scientific Center of Neurosurgery in Astana, and later as the chief physician.
  • For family reasons, in 2009, he returned to Karaganda, where he worked until 2012 as the deputy director for neurosurgery at the Regional Medical Center of Karaganda.
  • In 2013, he defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences on "Spinal Cord and Spinal Injury: Clinical Prognostic and Forensic Criteria".
  • From 2009 to 2017, he headed the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at KSMU.
  • Since 2018, he has been responsible for neurosurgery as an associate professor in the Department of Neurology, Psychiatry, and Rehabilitation at the NAO MUK, consultant in neurosurgery in Karaganda (Multidisciplinary Hospital named after Professor Kh.Z. Makazhanov, Regional Clinical Hospital, consultations for pregnant women in Karaganda), Zhezkazgan (Central Hospital of Zhezkazgan), Temirtau (Central Hospital of Temirtau).
  • Nurtas Isataevich is a member of the editorial board of the journal "Neurosurgery and Neurology of Kazakhstan", a member of the National Medical Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a member of the World and European Medical Associations. An independent accredited expert of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan in neurosurgery and healthcare organization. Member of the Expert Commission on Neurosurgery of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Chairman of the FOMS RK Accreditation Committee. Chairman of the "Neurosurgery" Committee of the UMO RUMS. Chairman of the Revision Commission of the Association of Neurosurgeons of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Head of the branch of the Association of Neurosurgeons of Karaganda Region. Chairman of the S.K. Akshulakov Prize in Neurosurgery for Residents of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
  • Author of more than 200 scientific works, 10 teaching aids, 2 monographs, 17 implementations, 2 inventions and new technologies in neurosurgery, author of 2 textbooks on neurosurgery and pediatric neurosurgery in the state language. Head of the scientific project "Prognostic assessment of the impact of clinical-genetic factors on the risk and course of spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (2020-2021, MES RK). Participant in the stroke prevention program, a film "Stroke: Know to Live" was shot by order of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the participation of Tursonov N.I., 2012, Karaganda. Developer of the Republican scientific program of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Development and Improvement of Modern Technology, Diagnosis, and Treatment of Cerebrovascular Diseases" (2009-2011). Developer of the Republican scientific program of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Spinal Surgery" for 2012-2014.
  • Tursonov N.I. is a competent educator, one of the leading teachers at the Karaganda Medical University. Under his leadership, in 2009, the first internship in neurosurgery was organized at the Karaganda Medical University, and he repeatedly served as the scientific supervisor of master's and doctoral students. Over many years of work, Nurtas Isataevich has trained dozens of skilled, highly qualified neurosurgeons, who are rightfully his pride. His graduates work successfully in almost all corners of our country.
  • His rich work experience allows him to conduct classes at a high professional level, which are characterized by high organization of educational activities for residents (future highly qualified doctors). The atmosphere of goodwill, pedagogical requirements, and mutual assistance created in the lesson contributes to the formation of a positive motivation for residents to thoroughly master the educational material. He is a highly erudite specialist, disciplined, hardworking, principled, and enjoys respect and authority among university staff, department, students, and listeners.
  • With a broad life and professional outlook, a high level of self-education and self-development, Nurtas Isataevich uses active and interactive forms of teaching in combination with extracurricular work to form and develop both general and professional competencies of students, regularly conducts additional classes and consultations, giving special attention to preparing residents for the development and defense of course and thesis projects. For fruitful work, he was deservedly awarded the title of "Best Assistant" (2006), "Best Teacher" of KSMU (2008).
  • Tursonov N.I. is a neurosurgeon of the highest category, with 45 years of experience. He has been repeatedly honored for his long and conscientious work, significant contribution to the development of neurosurgery in our country, receiving certificates, medals, and badges for his achievements in healthcare. He is a distinguished health worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan and was awarded the badge and certificate of Distinguished Health Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1997).
  • He was awarded the Honorary Certificate of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan for his special merits in the field of healthcare (1996, 2011),
  • The Honorary Certificate of the Akim of Karaganda region for active participation in the socio-political life of the region and personal labor and creative contribution to the construction of a new Kazakhstani society (2010, 2012)
  • The Honorary Certificate of the Department of Health of Karaganda region for achieved success in healthcare, for many years of impeccable work in the healthcare system. (1988, 1995, 2001, 2011)
  • He was awarded the Medal of the Ministry of Health and Social Development for his contribution to the development of healthcare in the Republic of Kazakhstan (2013)
