political disciplines
In the priority areas of the department's work are the formation of an active life position among medical students, social interaction, and leadership in organizing team work. The department provides insight into history and culture, forming a foundation for sound financial behavior.
Students tackle relevant issues, visit museums, go on expeditions, and create video content.
Science
Faculty members of the department have received over 25 certificates of state registration of rights to copyright objects. They have published more than 180 articles and abstracts in various publications (including KOKSON, Scopus, RINC), and have released over 30 monographs, textbooks, and educational-methodological aids.
Faculty members of the department have repeatedly participated in academic mobility programs at universities in Kazakhstan, as well as in near and far abroad.
Department staff act as lecturers and educators, representatives, and experts of various organizations and public associations.
Education
During the learning process, faculty members of the department actively use modern interactive methods. Innovations are demonstrated through the lens of traditions. Special attention is given to project activities of students under the guidance of instructors. Students tackle relevant tasks, visit museums, go on expeditions, and create video content.
The department offers postgraduate education courses (master's and doctoral programs): management psychology, academic writing.
The department has student scientific research circles and clubs:
- Historical and local history circle: leader A.B. Dolgopolov;
- Historical circle "Күретамыр" – leader K.Zh. Abdrakhmanova;
- Philosophical club "Ananda" - leader A.Kh. Zholomanova;
- Psychological circles and clubs – leaders M.B. Ospanova, Z.K. Zhumanbaeva, Zh.B. Ospanova, G.B. Abdikarimova;
- Entrepreneurial circle: leaders B.B. Rysbekova, D.E. Dzhakupova.
Every year, students participate in competitions and scientific research projects, receiving diplomas and taking prize-winning places. Under the guidance of faculty members, more than 120 theses and articles by students have been published in collections of conference materials, as well as in international, national, and regional journals, including articles in RINC and KOKSON.

History of the Department
- 1950 - The Department of Marxism-Leninism was established.
- 1995 - As a result of the merger of the departments of Political History, Philosophy, and Economics, the Department of Social Sciences was created.
- 2020 - Faculty members of psychological disciplines joined the department.
