Applications open for the “Bolashak” and “Scientific internships” programsAcceptance of documents for participation in the competitive admissions for the international “Bolashak” scholarship started on March 16 and will conclude on October 16.
The competitive admissions will take place from April 13 to December 31, 2026. Documents for the “Bolashak” scholarship are submitted via the egov.kz portal.
Starting from 2026, targeted training for specialists in the nuclear industry has been introduced, along with a separate category of professional internships in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
In 2026, a total of 635 scholarships have been allocated under the “Bolashak” program, including:
• 20 scholarships for bachelor’s programs
• 400 scholarships for master’s programs
• 50 scholarships for doctoral programs
• 165 scholarships for internships
The list of priority fields of study has been developed based on requests from central and local government agencies, taking into account forecast of the economy's demand for personnel. This enables candidates to study abroad in specializations that is in demand listed on the website of the "Center for International Programs" JSC, at: https://bolashak.gov.kz/ru/pretendentu/specialnosti

The list of universities under the “Bolashak” program for 2024–2026 has been supplemented to include leading field-specific universities ranked highly in their respective fields: https://bolashak.gov.kz/ru/pretendentu/vuzy
For 2026, the Republican Commission for Training os Specialists Overseas has approved the following main categories of professionals eligible for internships under the “Bolashak” program:
1. engineers and technicians, workers in the agricultural sector
2. employees of the nuclear industry
3. users of artificial intelligence systems
4. teachers of organizations for preschool, secondary education, vocational education and training, teachers and staff of higher and postgraduate education institutions
5. healthcare professionals, and etc.
Acceptance of documents for participation in the competitive admissions for the “Scientific Internships” program started on March 16 and will conclude on October 30.
The competitive admissions will take place from April 13 to December 31, 2026.

Applications for the “Scientific Internships” program can be submitted via the egov.kz portal, as well as at the office of the "Center for International Programs JSC", at the address: Astana, 70 Syganak St, 5th floor, office 508 (in person).
Applicants from other regions may submit documents via an authorized representative.
The “Scientific Internships” program was approved in accordance with the directive of the Head of the State for skills enhancement of Kazakhstani scientists in leading international research centers.
The state covers expenses for academic training, internships, flight tickets, medical insurance, visa fees, training materials, and also provides a monthly study allowance.
