Karaganda Medical University actively promotes a culture of honesty and integrity. The university builds an education system where committing a corrupt act is essentially impossible.
Corruption in the university is dangerous!
Compliance Officer - a manager overseeing the internal
system for implementing legal requirements and ensuring their compliance.
Functions of the Compliance Officer:
- Developing internal documents on anti-corruption issues within the Company;
- Developing and updating standards and policies in the area of anti-corruption compliance;
- Making proposals for amending existing or abolishing internal documents of the Company that do not comply with anti-corruption policies;
- Conducting explanatory activities on anti-corruption issues and forming an anti-corruption culture;
- Taking measures to identify, monitor, and resolve conflicts of interest;
- Monitoring compliance by employees of the quasi-public sector with anti-corruption restrictions in accordance with the legislation;
- Controlling compliance by employees of the Company with anti-corruption legislation, including internal documents aimed at forming an anti-corruption culture and academic integrity;
- Conducting internal analyses of corruption risks involving representatives from civil and business communities;
- Ensuring public disclosure of the results of the internal analysis of corruption risks;
- Conducting internal investigations based on appeals (complaints) regarding facts of corruption and/or participating in them;
- Coordinating efforts to reduce corruption risks in the activities of the quasi-public sector;
- Assisting the authorized body in combating corruption during the external analysis of corruption risks in the activities of the Company;
- Monitoring and analyzing changes in anti-corruption legislation and judicial practice regarding corruption cases;
- Organizing interaction between the Company and relevant state bodies, public organizations to promote principles of integrity and an anti-corruption culture;
- Preparing quarterly reports on anti-corruption prevention activities for the Board of Directors and Management;
- Preparing annual reports on anti-corruption prevention activities for the Sole Shareholder.
On November 7, 2018, Karaganda Medical University joined the League of
Academic Integrity of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Mission of the League
To enhance the quality of education, combat plagiarism, and fight against corruption in the higher education system.
In the universities that are part of the association, the League annually evaluates the organization of the educational process, the learning outcomes of students, the quality and authenticity of published scientific works, and the compliance of the university's activities with developed principles and standards.
Member universities of the League implement international systems to combat plagiarism, with mandatory checks of all written works by students and faculty, and also identify instances of corruption, their causes, and conduct corresponding activities to eradicate them.
Students, researchers, and faculty who encounter situations of academic dishonesty can report it on the League's website. In cases of violations of the principles of academic integrity, a university may be excluded from the League.
