Training of qualified rheumatologists with in-depth clinical training, ready to provide medical care to rheumatological patients in accordance with modern principles of evidence-based medicine, able to apply advanced innovative technologies in medicine, science and practice, continue lifelong learning, contribute to the development of society.

What will you learn?

1st year
  • The basics of rheumatology;
  • Conducting physical studies of joint function, tests, interpretation of functional indices;
  • Verification of the diagnosis and management tactics of adult and pediatric patients with pathology of the osteoarticular system in inpatient and outpatient settings;
  • Diagnosis and emergency care in the clinic of internal diseases and pediatrics.
2nd year
  • Joint puncture for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes;
  • Interpretation of the results of immunological examination of organospecific autoantibodies;
  • Morphological examination of a biopsy of a musculoskeletal flap, radiography;
  • Magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography of joints and axial skeleton, densitometry;
  • Ultrasound examination of joints;
  • Determination of indications for carrying out genetically engineered biological therapy and their initiation in patients with rheumatological pathology;
  • To establish the diagnosis and management tactics of adult and pediatric patients with systemic connective tissue diseases and systemic vasculitis at all levels of medical care.

Final learning outcomes

  1. Diagnose, carry out treatment with an assessment of its effectiveness, the hospital stage of medical rehabilitation for an adult patient with rheumatological pathology in a hospital.
  2. Diagnose, carry out treatment taking into account the peculiarities of pharmacotherapy, the hospital stage of medical rehabilitation of children of different ages with rheumatological pathology in a hospital.
  3. To diagnose, treat, prevent, provide medical rehabilitation and dynamic follow-up to an adult patient with rheumatological pathology in outpatient settings.
  4. To establish a diagnosis, to carry out treatment taking into account the peculiarities of pharmacotherapy, prevention, medical rehabilitation and dynamic monitoring of children of different ages with rheumatological pathology in outpatient settings.
  5. To determine indications for laboratory and visual diagnostic methods and interpret their results in adult and pediatric patients with rheumatological diseases.
  6. Provide qualified assistance in urgent and life-threatening conditions.

Employment

After completing their studies under the educational program, graduates can work in public and private healthcare organizations as a rheumatologist for adults and children, and obtain the right to private practice in accordance with current regulatory legal acts.
