Mission

Training highly qualified specialists capable of meeting society's needs in providing medical care to newborn infants, applying and developing advanced innovative technologies in medicine, science, and practice, utilizing the achievements of information and communication technologies, and enhancing the health of newborn infants.

What will you learn?

1st course
  • Principles of caring for healthy full-term newborns. Diagnosis of borderline conditions, tactics of their management and prevention. Methods for assessing damage to leading organs and systems in a newborn.
  • Organization of outpatient medical care for newborn children, work of the follow-up room to ensure systematic comprehensive monitoring and management of newborns who have suffered pathology in the perinatal period, timely correction of identified disorders.
2nd course
  • Diagnostic algorithms, differential diagnosis and management tactics for newborns with various pathologies in accordance with WHO technologies and diagnostic and treatment protocols of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Final Learning Outcomes:

  1. Diagnose and treat neonatal period diseases based on evidence-based medicine and according to protocols of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
  2. Apply the most informative methods of diagnosing diseases of the neonatal period, interpret the obtained research results.
  3. Provide neonatal care for healthy newborns.
  4. Identify risk groups. Master the principles of dispensary observation, rehabilitation of newborns with perinatal pathology in the follow-up room.
  5. Provide specialized medical care for urgent and life-threatening conditions in neonatology.
  6. Determine the indications and contraindications for the vaccination of newborns, carry out vaccination according to the national immunization schedule, inform about the benefits of vaccination.
  7. Provide counseling on breastfeeding support, lactation, newborn care, early child development, dangerous signs of diseases and life-threatening conditions.

After completing the educational program, graduates can work as neonatologists in both public and private healthcare organizations, and obtain the right to private practice in accordance with current regulations.
