What Will You Learn?

1st year
  • Basics of diagnosis verification and management tactics for adult and pediatric patients with pathology of the endocrine glands and diabetes mellitus at all levels of medical care, emergency care for acute decompensations and functional disorders of the endocrine glands, interpretation of various laboratory tests in endocrinological patients, basics of internal and childhood diseases.
2nd year
  • Verification of diagnosis and management tactics for patients with pathology of the hypothalamic-pituitary system and adrenal glands, pathology of bone tissue and parathyroid glands, basics of highly specialized care for adult and pediatric patients with endocrine diseases, determination of the state of the reproductive system and algorithms for the management of pregnancy and childbirth for various diseases of the endocrine system, diagnostic value and interpretation of radiation diagnostic methods in endocrinology.

Final Learning Outcomes

  1. Diagnose and manage treatment, prevention, medical rehabilitation, and dynamic monitoring of adult and pediatric patients with pathology of the endocrine glands and diabetes mellitus in hospitals and outpatient departments, according to the protocols of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the principles of evidence-based medicine. Provide emergency care for acute exacerbations and functional disorders of the endocrine glands.
  2. Diagnose and appoint treatment of internal organs diseases in adults and children at various levels of specialized endocrinological care.
  3. Determine the condition of the reproductive system of the patient with various diseases of the endocrine glands, the ability of pregnancy and childbirth, and provide the pregnancy and childbirth management.
  4. Participate in providing various x-ray methods for the diagnosis of the endocrine glands and internal organs pathology and provide interpretation of research results.
  5. Demonstrate the ability to choose the most rational use of various laboratory studies of endocrinological patients and provide their expanded interpretation.
  6. Diagnose and provide highly specialized care of the pituitary gland pathology and central nervous system and of bone metabolism disorders.
  7. Communicate with the patient and his relatives, healthcare professionals, including interdisciplinary and interprofessional teams in order to achieve best results for the patient.

Employment

After completing the educational program, graduates can work in public and private healthcare organizations as an endocrinologist for adults, children, and obtain the right to private practice in accordance with current regulations.
