A nurse is one of the most valuable professions at all times and in all medical institutions of the country and the world. Nurse practitioner generalists are the largest part of the staff of any hospital or outpatients’ clinic. It is the nurses who carry out all medical prescriptions – practical medical procedures and provide patient care. Ward, treatment, surgical nurses are crucial in in-patient departments. Physical rehabilitation, dressing, in-patient, and X-ray rooms are hard to imagine without nurses. Karaganda Medical University trains highly specialized nurses applying innovative educational technologies, advanced simulation equipment and training practice bases in Karaganda hospitals. A nurse (nurse/infirmarer/care worker) is a person with secondary medical education who works under the guidance of a doctor or paramedic. Complies with instructions and medical prescriptions, in his/her absence is obliged to provide medical assistance to the patient or victim in a life-threatening condition (sharp exacerbation of the disease, injury, etc.).

A qualified specialist can privately practice preventive procedures for the recovery, improvement and strengthening the body, can study and apply oriental medicine procedures in their practice. He/she can provide extensive medical assistance in regional centers and rural outpatient clinics.

All pharmacy enterprises require a professional who should be ready for professional activity as a pharmacist. He/she organizes and provides the population with medicinal products and medical supplies, prepares, and promotes quality control of medicinal products and their release, and conducts information and advisory work in pharmaceutical companies.

Duration of study: 2 years and 10 months (based on 11 grades)

The area of professional activities of graduates (career): Professionals in the area of pharmacy work in various organizations, including pharmacies, pharmaceutical enterprises, research institutes, and in government agencies that control the circulation of medicines.
