On May 6, 2014 "Students' Festival of National Cultures " was held at the Medical College of KSMU, dedicated to the Unity Day of Peoples of Kazakhstan. During the festival, the participants represented various ethnic groups and nationalities, told guests and students about the culture, traditions, customs of the people, provided the national dishes, performed traditional dances and songs, demonstrated the richness and variety of national costumes.

Defender of the Motherland Day in Kazakhstan is a state holiday. It is celebrated every year on May 7, due to the fact that on this day, in 1992, the President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the Decrees on the establishment of the National Armed Forces.
