In December 2014, the club "Akzhunis" held a competition of guitarists entitled « Strings of my soul » which took place in a hostel №1 of KSMU. We have decided to hold such competition to take the minds of our students off the everyday classes and to entertain them a little bit. As it were to bring something new and remembering for them.

The students living in the hostels of our University participated in this competition. A lot of competitors were the students of the 1 year. All of them got acquainted, communicated, shared the skills, and the most important, that pleased us very much is that they have quickly hit it off with each other. In fact it could not have been otherwise, they are united by a favourite hobby. Throughout the competition the competitors had no rivalry and to the contrary they all supported each other.

The Competition consisted of four rounds: the First was "Greeting". The competitors had to present themself having composed a song or performed their favourite creations. The second tour was «The Classical guitar». The competitors had to execute 1) Creations of the classics till the 20th century. 2) Creations of Kazakhstan classics. 3) Any classical piece of music. The works were executed in the form of solo and by heart. The third tour was «The Jazz guitar». The works were executed in the form of solo using a soundtrack-1. And the fourth tour was "Band". The works were executed with any instrumental combination.

The competitors from 3 hostels participated in this competition. The winner of the competition became the participant from the hostel №7 Utegenov Eskendir. And also the participant from the hostel №6 Zhakupov Sayat became the first one. The second place was given to Aldongarov Dauren. And finally, the third place was taken by the  participants from the hostel №6 performed in duet – Assem and Аltynay. But also the other participants have not remained without attention, they were awarded certificates of honour and consolation prizes.

We want to thank the organizers of the competition, girls from the club "Akzhunis" and also to express separate gratitude to the labour union of KSMU to the student council and the personnel of the hostel №1 for their help.
