On the 20th of November, the Interuniversity Multilingual Olympiad was held by the teachers of foreign languages department of Karaganda State Medical University. The 1^st and 2^nd –year- students of non-language faculties of 6 Universities took part in the Olympiad.

The Multilingual Olympiad consisted of four rounds:

The 1^st  round ( team round) was held in the form of intellectual game consisting of questions in 3 languages.

The 2^nd  round (individual round devoted to the check of Kazakh language skills) was in written form and included the questions on history, traditions and customs of Kazakh people.

The 3^rd  round ( individual round devoted to the check of  Russian language skills) consisted of charades and puzzles with coding words in them.

The 4^th  round ( individual round devoted to the check of  English language skills) was the spontaneous speech on specific topic during one minute.

The winners were identified according to the results of each round. Besides, the prize winners were determined according to the sum of points received during the Olympiad.

The 1st round- Multilingual round

The 1^st place – the team of Karaganda State Medical University (240 points)

The 2^nd place- the team of Karaganda Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after Barimbek Beissenov (160 points)

The 3^rd place- the team of Karaganda Economic University(150 points)

The 4^th place- the team of Karaganda State Technical University (140 points)

The 5^th place- the team of Karaganda State University  named after academician E.A. Buketov (120 points)

The 6^th place- the team of Karaganda University “Bolashak” (50 points)

All the winners were awarded diplomas and prizes. It was pleasant to recognize that the team of KSMU had taken the first place, the 2^nd-year- student of “General Medicine” specialty Andrey Zeleniy had won in the nomination «The best English language speaker», and Asem Aminova had taken the 2^nd place according to the results of individual rounds of the Olympiad. We are glad to congratulate our students on their victory and to wish them further success.
