Kazakh data had been presented at ICAAC
On the 5-9th of September, 2014 the
International Congress of Antibiotics and Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (ICAAC)
took place in Washington, DC. Our report «Molecular and Epidemiological
features of MRSA in Kazakhstan» was included in the conference program. The
results of our studies have raised the interest among specialists, as for the
first time the data on the prevalence of epidemic clones of MRSA in Kazakhstan had
been presented at international forum. The interest due to the fact that
Central Asia is a large «white spot» on the world map of antimicrobial
resistance and the studies carried out in our university, aimed at a solution of
this difficult issue.
The participation in such congresses is not only the place for results presentation for the specialists, but the place of active communication, discussion, planning and meeting. Free format of the Congress allows getting answers to professional questions from the world's leading experts, all the participants can witness and hear the lectures of world legends of clinical microbiology and antimicrobial chemotherapy: Karen Bush, Keith Klugmann, Fernando Baqueiro, Patrice Nordman, David Makhintosh, David Livermore (our posters hung side by side and the proximity to the microbiology master very inspired). A nice bonus was meeting with our old friends from Russia, UK, USA, France, in which they discussed current projects and future plans.
