On the first Saturday of September an annual sport-intellectual holiday for the first-year students named "Zhol Ashar" took traditionally place in KSMU.

Zhol Ashar is an intellectual quiz game having some game elements, which is traditionally held in the beginning of the academic year to help the first-year students to feel comfortable in their alma-mater, to get used to the structure of university and college, to know the location of departments and sections as well as to impart the team work skills.

This year nearly 40 teams out of KSMU and medical college students took place in this quiz game. All the teams had to find as many stations as possible according to those given in the trip sheet and having arrived at the station, in full, to answer questions getting thus maximum amount of points for correct answers.

According to the quiz game results the jury declared the winners and shared places among all the teams in the following way:

Among the KSMU students:

1. Just girls. – nursing and biology

2. Bolashak-1. - general medicine

3. Adrenaline. - preventive medicine

Among the medical college students:

1. Zhas Kyran. - therapeutics

2. Adrenaline. - therapeutics

3. Aybolit. - nursing

Moreover, the team of general medicine and stomatology department "Sunkar" was awarded in "The best slogan" nomination. The team of medical college (nursing department) took the prize in the nomination “The youngest participants”.

The quiz-game had the spirit of sportsmanship having given all the participants a lot of positive emotions and unforgettable impressions.
