About Ancient Egyptian medicine
On November 3, after lessons at the Departments of History of Kazakhstan and Social and Political Sciences, the local history club gathered in two formats: offline and online. In her lively presentation, Susanna Asanova – a 2nd year student of specialty “General Medicine” – addressed such a fascinating and unexplored topic.
Susanna has been interested in ancient history and archaeology since she was a child, and she mentioned the renowned papyrus scrolls, which were discovered and deciphered by European scholars centuries ago. They contained information on ancient Egyptian medical knowledge. When mummifying their rulers, the pharaohs, they learned a lot about the structure of the human body.
We applauded heartily and requested that Susanna continue to introduce us to the mysteries of ancient civilizations at future meetings.
Susanna concluded by responding to the questions from the audience, which included department teachers.
