Expanding the boundaries of international cooperation

03 November 2023

As part of the visit of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron to Kazakhstan, a Kazakh-French business forum was held in Astana, which was attended by the Chairman of the Board – Rector of NCJSC "Karaganda Medical University" A.A.Turmukhambetova.

At the business forum, a cooperation agreement was signed between NCJSC “KMU” and the University of Lille, as well as with the Ciprevo company.

International cooperation is a key strategy of the Karaganda Medical University.

Our University has been cooperating with French universities for many years. Various projects are being implemented, supported by the Erasmus+ program, academic mobility of teachers and students, training of scientific personnel within the framework of the Abai-Verne program.

It was pointed out at the ceremony of signing the Memorandums that in the future we are planning cooperation with the University of Lille in the development of simulation training for the training of doctors. Our University's Center for Simulation Technologies is recognized by the Association for Medical Education in Europe as a Center of Excellence in the field of simulation training. Together with the simulation training center of the University of Lille, instructors will be trained and exchange of students and teachers will be carried out.

Cooperation with Ciprevo company started 3 years ago with the World Bank project on the development to train personnel for biomedical research. During this time we held a joint Kazakhstani-French conference on oncology. Today our partnership has received formal confirmation in the form of a Memorandum of Cooperation. We have defined the objectives of conducting joint scientific research in the field of molecular cell biology and medicine, the creation of a joint scientific laboratory for preclinical studies that consistent with international standards, the organization of scientific internships and exchanges of teachers, joint training of scientific personnel.

Our University has opened French language courses for students and teachers to develop partnership with French universities. We expect that cooperation with higher educational institutions of France will contribute to the development of medical science and education of our country, strengthen friendly relations between our countries.
