Discussed the issues of training doctors and the development of the university

On April 20, 2022, Deputy Akim of the Karaganda region Alikulov Erbol Shymkentbayuly made a working visit to the Medical University of Karaganda to get acquainted with the educational, scientific, clinical and educational activities of the country's leading medical university.

Accompanied by acting Chairman of the Board-Rector Anar Akylbekovna Turmukhambetova and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Viktor Petrovich Riklefs, the guest visited the Library and Publishing Center of the university, the total fund of which is more than 450 thousand copies and meets the requirements for the availability of literature.

The computer park for students consists of 420 computers connected to the Internet. The Wi-Fi zone is distributed throughout the university. There are 2 scanners installed for users in the Electronic Resources Hall. The interactive room is equipped with a short-throw projector. For students, there is a researcher's room equipped with 15 computers that have access to all information resources of the university.

Yerbol Shymkentbayuly also got acquainted with the work of the Research Center, which has a laboratory for collective use. As noted during the introductory conversation, in 2019 "MUK" NJSC was one of the few in the republic that acquired the status of a research one. Today, a solid scientific base has been created at the university, unique genomic research, research on topical problems of fundamental and applied medical science is being developed. In this direction, the university fruitfully cooperates with authoritative scientific centers of near and far abroad.

The laboratory has 11 rooms on a total area of ​​490 m2 with the necessary infrastructure to implement the full cycle of research, including sample preparation and disposal.

The deputy akim of the region also visited a computer class, an assembly hall, a sports hall, a student service center, a canteen, and a university museum.

Further, the visit continued at the Center for Educational and Simulation Technologies of the university, in the building of which (Alalykin Street) the department of morphology and physiology and the anatomical museum of the university are located.

Deputy Director of the Center for Educational and Simulation Technologies D.B. Aimbetova emphasized that the simulation program of the university in 2017 was awarded the ASPIRE "Excellence simulation-based healthcare education" award by the AMEE accreditation committee. In 2018, the Center for Practical Skills of the Karaganda Medical University entered the list of simulation centers in Europe.

Today, the total number of students at the university is 7380 people, taking into account the levels of bachelor's degree, internship, master's degree, residency, doctoral studies, TAPE. 1705 foreign students from India, China, Armenia, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Georgia, Pakistan, Germany, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Jordan, Yemen, Kyrgyzstan, Palestine, Poland, Ukraine are also studying.

The university has 7 Schools: medicine, dentistry, public health and biomedicine, pharmacy, nursing education, research, professional development and residency and 1 faculty - International Medical. The university also has a research center and 19 departments.

Training of specialists is carried out in the following areas: health care and social security (medicine), engineering, natural, interdisciplinary sciences. Education is conducted in Kazakh, Russian and English in 10 undergraduate programs, 26 master's programs, 5 doctoral programs, 35 residency programs, 7 TAPE programs.

"MUK" NJSC has three clinics: medical university, occupational health, dental.

The university is included in the Directory of Medical Schools "Avicenna" of the World Health Organization and the World Federation of Medical Education, is a member of a number of international Associations and the League of Academic Integrity.

In the ranking of educational programs of universities NCE "Atameken" educational programs of "MUK" NJSC are invariably included in the top list.

Karaganda Medical University is recognized as an authoritative center of medical education on an international scale.

During the meeting, acting Chairman of the Board - Rector of "Medical University of Karaganda" NJSC A.A. Turmukhambetova and deputy akim of the region Ye.Sh. Alikulov discussed the issues of training future doctors, employment of graduates, prospects for the development of the university.
