On December 10, 2021, Languages Development Center of “Karaganda Medical University” NC JSC  held the students’ scientific and practical conference “Rukhani Zhangyru - Great names of the Great Steppe” online on the Cisco Webex platform as part of the program implementation for the modernization of public consciousness “Rukhani Zhangyru”. 77 people took part in the conference: the 1^st year students of “KMU” NC JSC studying in the state and Russian languages, and their scientific advisors. The reports were prepared under the guidance of the teaching staff of the Languages Development Center and the Department of Kazakhstan History and Social and Political Disciplines of “KMU” NC JSC.

The purpose of the conference was to study and popularize the life and heritage of great historical figures of the Great Steppe, Kazakh cultural and educational figures, as well as to discuss topical issues related to the modernization of public consciousness aimed at forming a united Nation of Kazakhstan, taking into account the best traditions of the past based on national and cultural roots.

The conference was headed by the Presidium consisting of the head of  Languages Development Center, Associate Professor, Candidate of Philology M.A. Maretbaeva, Deputy Chairman of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, head of the Scientific Expert Group of the Regional Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the public association “Karaganda Center of Jewish Culture”, M.D., Professor V.B. Molotov-Luchansky, Vice-rector for Academic Work of “KMU”NC JSC V.P.Riklefs, Head of the Youth Affairs Department A.A.Ungarbayeva.

On behalf of the management of “KMU” NC JSC, Viktor Petrovich Riklefs, Vice-rector for Academic Work of “Karaganda Medical University” NC JSC made a welcoming speech addressed to the participants of the conference, who highlighted the provisions of the program for the modernization of public consciousness “Rukhani Zhangyru”, noted the importance of the conference, the relevance of the topics of their reports.

As a result of the conference, practical recommendations reflected in the resolution were formulated on issues related to the training of personnel adapted to global competition in the field of knowledge:

- analysis of authentic portraits of Kazakh cultural figures and their actualized heritage as the most important component of the formation of national identity and serving as a support for the modernization of public consciousness;

- presentation and evaluation of the educational activities of the great teacher, the founding father of education in the history of the Kazakh steppe, Ybray Altynsarin and poet Kasym Amanzholov, who left a bright trace in the development of Kazakh literature;

- consideration of actual problems of theory and practice of literary translation of Kazakh poetry into European languages;

- review of theoretical works on anthroponymy of Kazakhstan, study of the nature and analysis of the word-formation structure of proper names (outstanding people) of different territorial localization, identification of their features, disclosure of semantics and etymology;

- determination of the main ideas of Alash Orda as a source of the revival of national consciousness and the study of the role of representatives of the national movement “Alash” in the revival of Kazakhstani statehood, strengthening the national consciousness of the Kazakhs, the development of the foundations of tolerance and friendship of the people of the Great Steppe.

The reports were presented in Kazakh, Russian and English. There were 50 reports in total.

The work of the conference was carried out at the plenary session and in five sections.

All reports are published in the electronic version of the conference proceedings.

The participants - speakers and their scientific advisors were awarded with certificates. Speakers who spoke at the plenary session were awarded with diplomas of speakers.
