On November 16, a seminar-meeting on the topic "Topical issues of expertise in occupational pathology" was held at the Institute of Public Health and Professional Health of "MUK" NJSC.

It was attended by specialists from territorial subdivisions of the Department of the Committee of State Sanitary and Epidemiological Control in the Karaganda Region, Health Department of the Karaganda Region, Department of the Committee of Labor, Social Protection and Migration of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Karaganda Region, representatives of the medical service, employees of the departments of occupational medicine and services safety measures of "ArcelorMittal Temirtau" JSC and "Corporation Kazakhmys" LLP, as well as occupational pathologists of the medical centers "MC Kazakhmys", "Hippocrat", trade union organizations "Korgau", "Amanat".

The urgent issues of medical examinations and the direction of workers with suspicion of an occupational disease and the problems of examination of the connection between the disease and the performance of labor (official) duties are considered.

Institute of Public Health and Professional Health of the Karaganda Medical University was the organizer of the seminar, which is a medical organization supervising the occupational pathological service of the republic.

The speakers noted that the most important indicator of the health of a society is the health status of its employees. This determines the quality of labor resources and the demographic situation in the country, labor productivity, and the value of the gross domestic product.

There are large industrial complexes of the coal, mining, metallurgical industries at the territory of the Karaganda region. Since occupational diseases are preventable but not curable, prevention and early detection of occupational diseases should be considered.

It is necessary to resolve the issues of primary medical preventive measures at the workplace, to ensure control over the conduct of periodic medical examinations for the early detection of groups at risk of developing occupational pathology and other diseases. This applies to professional fitness issues.

The second examination in occupational pathology is the examination of the connection between the disease and the profession. In accordance with the regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan, expert issues are resolved by specialized commissions by expert occupational pathological commissions, headed by professors-occupational pathologists. Difficult cases of determining the genesis of the disease and conflict issues are considered at the Republican Expert Conflict Commission on Occupational Pathology, "MUK" NJSC.

The main principle of the entire system of medical care in the country is the joint responsibility of the state, the employer and the employee for his health, and the joint holding of a seminar-meeting among medical workers, employers, state bodies for sanitary and epidemiological control, representatives of the trade union and medical and social expertise is very relevant and timely.

Today, the health care system of Kazakhstan has been tasked with improving the health status of the population of the republic, developing and implementing measures that contribute to the speedy exit of health care to a qualitatively new level of providing medical services to the population.
