University social mission

On October 30, a global conference "The New Societal Dimension within the Mission of Higher Education" was held in Nur Sultan. The conference was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Council of Rectors of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Office of Erasmus + in Kazakhstan, Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov. The conference was attended by the Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Science -Anar Akylbekovna Turmukhambetova and also the compliance-officer, Coordinator of the project “Ecosystem of students’ entrepreneurship” Alexandr Urmashov.

The purpose of the conference was the discussion of the third mission of higher education in the context of the positioning of universities in the global world and development of recommendations on the development of the strategy of the social mission of universities and forms of its implementation in Kazakhstan society. The conference organized the work of parallel sessions: “Instruments and practices of interaction between universities and society”, “Partnership of universities and business for social development”, “Social justice and equality”, “National concept of the social factor of higher education: presentation-discussion”. The coordinator of the project “Ecosystem of students’ entrepreneurship” presented a report “Development of entrepreneurial thinking: social projects of students of the Karaganda Medical University”. The experience of our university is noted as the best practice of a non-major university.

An exhibition of posters was also organized as part of Erasmus +. Our university presented the projects "TAME", "TRUNAK" and "TUTORIAL".

Today, Karaganda Medical University is included in to the TOP 10 universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan - participants of the Capacity Building projects in the field of higher education Erasmus +, while in 2 projects the university is the coordinator.
