On October 4-5, 2019, in the city of Turkestan of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after H.A. Yasavi (IKTU named after H.A. Yasavi) the III Central Asian International Forum on ensuring the quality of education, organized by the IKTU named after H.A. Yasavi and the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR).

The purpose of the forum was the exchange of experience and discussion of pressing issues of improving the quality of education in the Central Asian region.

The forum was attended by about 600 participants from 20 countries. Among the honored guests and speakers are deputies of the Senate and the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of the Ministries of Education and Science of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Russia. Active participants in the forum were heads of international European networks for ensuring the quality of higher education, foreign accreditation bodies, foreign educational organizations (Belgium, Hungary, Germany, the Netherlands, Russia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Latvia, Moldova), Kazakhstan and foreign universities, students and employers.

The plenary session and panel sessions on the topics “International experience in ensuring the quality of education”, “Improving the quality of education and commercialization of science: trends and trends in digital transformation”, “Student-centered learning and quality assessment”, “IAAR / IAAR - assessment of the quality of medical education”, as well as the round table “Strategic management of the university in the conditions of academic freedom and the internationalization of education”.

Our university was represented by MD, professor Vilen Molotov-Luchansky; Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Saule Akhmetova; Candidate of Medical Sciences, Professor Bauyrzhan Omarkulov; PhD, Associate Professor Dmitry Matyushko, Head of Quality Management Department Anar Emershina.

In the panel sessions “IAAR / IAAR - assessment of the quality of medical education”, Ph.D., Professor B.Omarkulov spoke on the topic of the report “Virtual Technologies in Medical Education”, which raised the question of virtual technologies used in NAO “MUK”, a virtual patient diagnosed with an acute abdomen according to the TAME project, as well as the issue of training to avoid medical errors.

The journal No. 3 Education Quality Assurance published an article by Ph.D., associate professor S.Akhmetova "Experience in teaching microbiology at a medical university" dedicated to teaching microbiology at the undergraduate course of biologists with the example of Karaganda Medical University.

As a result of the work of the International Forum, a resolution was adopted and certificates were awarded to participants.

At the end of the forum, the IKTU im.H.A.Yasavi organized an excursion to all forum participants. The Turkestan region is famous for holy places, a pilgrimage for which is equal for Muslims to the Hajj in Mecca. Thanks to the forum, we managed not only to gain knowledge and experience, but also visited the ancient settlement of Otrar, the Mausoleum of Arystan-Bab and the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasavi, plunged into the history of our ancestors.
