Samarkand – the pearl of the East

From 13.05.2019 to 24.05.2019 in the framework of the academic mobility program of the faculty between the SSMI and Karaganda Medical University professor of the department of epidemiology and infectious diseases F.M. Shayzadina visited the department of infectious diseases, epidemiology and dermatovenerology of the Samarkand State Medical Institute (SSMI). The head of the department of infectious diseases, epidemiology and dermatovenerology of the SSMI is c.m.s., associate professor N.A. Yarmukhamedova.

During the period of stay in the SSMI F.M. Shayzadina gave problem lectures and carried out practical lessons with the 5^th course students of the pediatric faculty on the subject "Epidemiology". Lectures and practical lessons were consistent with the work program of the discipline according to scope and content.

Practical lessons were conducted using interactive teaching methods in the form of discussion, teamwork, and work in small groups, solving situational problems based on the epidemiological situations followed by the development of preventive and anti-epidemic measures in the focus of infectious and parasitic diseases. All kinds of lessons were intense and interesting. Lectures and practical lessons ended with feedback, which allowed highlighting the key points of the problem under consideration once again.

The work of the professor F.M. Shayzadina is highly appreciated by the administration of SSMI. The evidence of it is the feedback received in the name of the chairman of the board – rector of the KMU, professor R.S. Dosmagambetova

We express our gratitude to the administration of the KMU and SSMI for the opportunity to exchange teaching experience and create conditions for cooperation between departments.
