The student scientific-practical conference "Lingua latina: linguistic and literary aspects of learning" was held at the Medical University of Karaganda within the framework of the program of modernization of public consciousness "Рухани жаңғыру". The conference was organized by the Russian language department. The conference was attended by students of KSU named after E.A. Buketov, Karaganda State Technical University, Karaganda Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after B.Beysenov, as well as students of our university.

During the conference, a productively exchange of views took place, informative reports on topical issues related to the transition of the Kazakh language to the Latin script were given. The students analyzed the historical meaning and problems of transition of the Kazakh language to the Latin alphabet, characterized the possible consequences of Latinization in Kazakhstan, discussed the difficulties and prospects of the transition to the Latin alphabet based on the experience of the Turkic-speaking countries, spoke about the need to transition to the Latin alphabet to preserve the originality of the Kazakh language, conducted a comparative analysis of the Latin script in the Kazakh and Uzbek languages.

Future specialists in the field of medicine, law, philology, for whom the Latin language and Latin script will become part of the profession, discussed with interest the meaning of the Latin alphabet for Kazakhstan. After all, the program of modernization of public consciousness "Рухани жаңғыру" is addressed primarily to the future of the country - the current student youth.
