Astana Innovations Challenge 2018 was held from 9 to 11 November in Astana Hub.

The project is aimed to develop start-up culture in Astana, as well as to establish relationships between government authorities and start-ups by attracting young developers to solve urban technological problems. 

The competition gathered together 160 participants, who were charged with challenges from leading national brands of Kazakhstan.

For the three days, mentors worked with teams who gave feedback to the projects and suggested how to make the project run successfully.

26 projects were submitted to the judges. The Enactus team of the Karaganda State Medical University, consisting of: Korobeinikov Timur (6th year, School of Medicine), Konysbekov Kaiyrbek (6th year, School of Medicine), Nuraly Shynggys (6th year, School of Medicine) and Kamysheva Diana (5th year, School of Medicine) won the 3rd place with the Eco Poof project. The project was created to solve the problem of recycling plastic bottles and received 200,000 tenge for further development.
