Students of the group 7-045 and 7-059 directions of Therapy held a school for patients with atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease on the basis of the regional center for medical care of war veterans. The purpose of this event was to explain the importance of monitoring indicators such as: height, weight, waist, body mass index, blood pressure, total cholesterol, glucose; familiarization with risk factors, a brief overview of information about atherosclerosis, hypertension and coronary heart disease.

During this event, patients from three departments were invited to the conference hall where interns with the help of portable devices were carried out determination of total cholesterol, glucose, changes in blood pressure, anthropometry, calculating the risk of cardiovascular complications on the scale of SCORE for 10 years. An informative lecture regarding the issue of atherosclerosis and its possible complications was delivered.The lecture attracked interest of patients. Thepatients asked a lot of questions about the cost and effectiveness of drugs, the normal individual level of blood pressure, slowing the development of cardiovascular disease on the SCORE scale. What was received quite detailed replies.

Towards the end of the event patients were given memos on proper nutrition, self-control diaries on taking drugs.
