On October 10, 2018, scientific–practical student conference was held at KSMU dedicated to the world day of mental health. In 2018, the holiday is celebrated under the motto "Young people and mental health in a changing world". The organizers of the conference are employees of the Department of Medical Psychology and Communication Skills of KSMU. Participants of the conference-students of 5-6 courses of KSMU specialty " General medicine "and undergraduates of the first year, specialty"Public health".

  The participants were introduced to the global contemporary problems of mental health and ways of its preservation. The reports of the conference were devoted to the problems of dependence among young people, the results of the study of adaptation of the first course students to the educational process in KSMU, the description of psychological types of students, the prospects of psychohygienic and psychoprophylaxis in student life. The 5th year students of the foreign Department familiarized the conference participants with the work of the psychiatric service in India.

  During the conference, students exchanged views, the staff of the Department of Medical Psychology and Communication Skills shared their experiences. Students-speakers and organizers were awarded a letter of appreciation of the Department.
