The Youth Affairs Department together with the activists of the volunteer organization “Volte KSMU” organized a concert program in the “ Boarding school for aged and disabled  №2 of Karaganda”.

The event was dedicated to the celebration of the International Day of Older Persons.

 Since ancient times, the Kazakhs considered their old people “aksakals”to be the wealth of the nation, its moral basis. Respect for elders was raised in the young generation from childhood. Especially for grandparents living in a boarding house, participants of the volunteer movement prepared a rich cultural program consisting of games, songs and dances.

Students recited poems, sang songs from the former Soviet Union to a guitar. They organized an interesting game "Moments of Life" for the elderly and even held a no-lose lottery.

According to the participants, it was so pleasant to see a lively response in the eyes of the wise old people, sincere emotions and warm and joyful smiles on the faces of the elderly.

The concert ended with a beautiful waltz melody that briefly returned grandparents during their youth.

At the end of the event, representatives of the older generation thanked the students sincerely for the festive mood, wished them success in their studies, and thanked the administration of the university for their attention and care.
