Prevention of rabies

On September 28, "World day against Rabies" being done across the world on the initiative of WHO. This event is held annually to awareness-raising of the population about preventive measures and to draw attention to methods of protection this dangerous disease.

The Date was not selected at random: September 28 is the anniversary of the death of Louis Pasteur, a French chemist and microbiologist  who created the first vaccine against rabies.

The activists of the Youth Affairs Department have contributed to the promotion of public health in the framework of the "World day against Rabies ".

The first step was the placement on the Educational TV of the KSMU the videos explaining to the students and teachers the symptoms of rabies and the procedure for biting the animal.

Then the students prepared and conducted a colorful flash mob in the style of the agit brigades of the 1920s, calling everyone to fight rabies.

The next step was the holding of the mini-football tournament "Students of KSMU for a Healthy Lifestyle". The games were held on the open sports ground of dormitory №4. The teams representing the hostels of the KSMU took part in the tournament.

The final chord of preventive measures was the distribution of booklets describing mandatory preventive measures to prevent rabies and explaining the need for mandatory vaccination of domestic animals.

In conclusion, the state pays sufficient attention to the prevention and treatment of various infectious diseases in Kazakhstan. Strengthening preventive measures, timely vaccination, improving diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients are conducted to improve the level of epidemiological safety of citizens.
