On September 3-4, 2018, KSMU hosted meetings with representatives of Duke University: Associate Dean for Curricular Affairs Colleen O'Connor Grochowski, Assistant Director, Programs, Duke Global Health Innovation Center (GHIC) Elina Urli Hodges, Assistant Dean for Assessment and Evaluation; Assistant Professor Deborah Engle. Vice-rector for science, strategic development and international cooperation A.A.Turmukhambetova, vice-rector for clinical work and continuous professional development B.N.Kosherova, vice-rector for educational-methodical work V.P.Riklefs, deans of all faculties, teachers and administrative and managerial staff, trained at Nazarbayev University and Duke University.

During the meetings, questions were discussed on the results of training of KSMU employees at Nazarbayev University and Duke University, on the introduction of the knowledge gained by the trained staff at the KSMU, the university autonomy, the development strategy, directions for further partnership and mentoring by Duke University were discussed and planned.

During the meeting, the guests visited the practical skills center, the dental clinic laboratory, the library and the museum of the KSMU.
