Academic mobility at the University of Milan for residents on the specialty "Anesthesiology and Reanimatology, including children's" of the 8-003 group.
From 16 of June to 1 of July, 2018, during academic
mobility, the first year residents of the specialty "Anesthesiology and Reanimatology,
including Children's" were trained at the University of Milan on the basis
of the San Paolo Hospital, modulo "Anesthesia and Intensive Care in
Thoracic Surgery".
During the training, residents under the guidance of Professor David Chiumello worked in the anesthesia department of the hospital, which has 10 operating rooms equipped with modern anesthetic equipment. The residents were given the opportunity to assist during anesthesia for surgical patients, to participate in preoperative patient preparing and to learn different types of analgesia in the postoperative period.
In addition, residents were acquainted with different types of intubation. For example, intubation with using video endoscopy equipment. Questions of premedication of patients with the purpose of stabilization of their emotional state and prevention of possible anesthetic complications were considered in detail. Particular attention was paid to the provision of anesthesia in cancer patients and children.
Academic mobility at the University of Milan enabled residents to study modern approaches to anesthetizing patients in the perioperative period.
Residents express special gratitude to the rector of our university, Professor R.S. Dosmagambetova, vice-rector for clinical work and continuous professional development of B.N.
