Training «Marketing and cultural challenges for internationalization» in framework of the WELCOME «Towards Incoming International University Communities” Erasmus+ project

From 03 to 10 June 2018, an international training "Marketing and cultural challenges for internationalization" was held in Estonia on the basis of the Tallinn Technical University within the framework of the WELCOME «Towards Incoming International University Communities” Erasmus+ project, there were participated: A. T. Moroy, Head of Marketing and Advertising Department, S. B. Kassymova, head of the International Cooperation Department and A. N. Urmashov, chief specialist of the Department of Youth Affairs.

This training was organized for representatives from partner universities of Kazakhstan and China:

- Karaganda State Medical University (Karaganda, Kazakhstan);

- Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilev (Astana, Kazakhstan);

- Narxoz University (Almaty, Kazakhstan);

- Kazakh University of Economics, Finance and International Trade (Astana, Kazakhstan);

- Beihang University (Beijing, People's Republic of China);

- Tongji University (Shanghai, People's Republic of China).

Participants of the training were acquainted with the structure of the Tallinn Technical University, with the activities of the Marketing and Communications Departments, personnel management, and the International Cooperation Department.  Also, our employees were acquainted with the work of the student association which, including, in particular, activities to support foreign students.

The lectures were devoted to the internationalization aspects of the educational process: strategic goals and internationalization policy, modern problems of researchers in the field of science and internationalization, national and international marketing, ideas for international cooperation between project partners in the future, etc.

In addition, for the trainees, there was conducted an excursion to TTU and to the business incubator “Mektory” of the university, which is a platform for the development of innovative technologies by the country's entrepreneurs and university students. At the end of the training, all participants were awarded certificates.

In addition, there was held a working meeting of the Erasmus + WELCOME consortium within the framework of this training, there were discussed the interim results of the project, as well as further measures for its implementation and dissemination.

It will be recalled that the project WELCOME is being implemented in KSMU since October 2016. The main goal of the project is to strengthen the international direction and internationalization in higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan and China.
