Marathon of Memory
On May 18, the activists of the Youth
Affairs Department took part in track-and-field athletics marathon dedicated to the World
Remembrance Day of AIDS Victims.
Organizer of the event is Municipal State Department "Karaganda Regional Center for AIDS Prevention and Control".
AIDS is a disease caused by the human immunodeficiency virus. The virus affects the immune system, reduces the resistance to other diseases and often leads to death.
The world symbol of the movement against HIV / AIDS is the red tape pinned to the clothes. The students of Karaganda with red ribbons on their chest, the participants of the race around the park lake, expressed the solidarity with people living with HIV / AIDS all over the world and honored the memory of all the victims of this terrible disease.
A healthy lifestyle and responsible behavior is the main defense against HIV / AIDS.
