Academic mobility in the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after H.A. Yassawi, Turkestan

17 May 2018

From April 23 to May 5 assistant of the Department of General Surgery and Traumatology Abenov Dastan Erbolovich, was in the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Kh.A. Yasavi, Turkestan under the program of academic mobility.

The lesson was conducted with the 4th year students at the Department  of Surgical Disease, in the medical faculty, in the specialty "Traumatology". In the course of theoretical and practical studies it was revealed that the level of knowledge of students is high. Especially it should be noted that students of the medical faculty of the university are actively practicing daily, remain on night duty and make simple operational manipulations, as the university and the clinic are in the same building.

A tour of the university was conducted with visits to the University Museum, the Center for Practical Skills. I really liked the 4-storey large library, where there are computers, a lot of medical literature and also there are separate soundproof rooms and a dining room. Also, the university has its own large theater, clinical and diagnostic center, where there are departments of traumatology and surgery, therapy, neurosurgery. The University named after H.A. Yassawi with lectures and reports are often visited by doctors and scientists from Turkey.

In my free time, I had the opportunity to visit the historical buildings and sights of the city of Turkestan.

I would like to express the tremendous gratitude to the administration and the academic staff of the University named after H.A. Yassawi for the warm welcome, the opportunity to exchange experience with professional specialists. A huge gratitude for the opportunity to visit Turkestan and get a mutual interesting experience to the rector of KSMU, Professor R.S. Dosmagambetova, and the Department of International Cooperation.

D.E. Abenov,

Associate Professor of General Surgery and Traumatology.
