On April 21, the games of the 1st mini-football tournament among the teachers of the Karaganda region universities were held at the sports base of the Karaganda State University named after E.A.Buketov.

   6 teams: KarSU, KSTU, KEU, Bolashak, KSMU and Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs took part in the tournament dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Astana.

   The main purpose of the tournament: popularization of a healthy lifestyle and strengthening the friendly relations between universities.

  The KSMU team consisted of Professor V.N.Priz (Department of Epidemiology and Occupational Health), Professor N.T.Tabriz (Department of Phthisiology), Assistant of the Department of Surgical Diseases No. 1 E.B.Tishkambaev, Assistant of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Surgical Dentistry D.Voloshin, Head of the Department of State Procurement and Material Supply A.O.Danilin, Department of Operational Work employee I.Kofanov, coach of the KSMU football team A.K.Tukhmetov and others. The team captain is dean of the International Medical Faculty K.K.Toleubekov. Our players train under the guidance of the president of the football club of KSMU, Vice-Rector for Organizational and Economic Work of M.K.Teleuov.

  Participants in the tournament were divided into two groups: "A" (KarSU, KSMU, "Bolashak") and "B" (Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, KSTU, KEU).

  Our football team defeated the team of KarSU (3: 1) and "Bolashak" (6: 1) took the first place in their group and reach the semi-final, where she met the traditionally uncomfortable rival team of KSTU. The regular time of hard game ended in a draw 1: 1, (our top scorer Ivan Kofanov scored a goal) and our team won the game by winning penalties with a score of 2:1.

   KSMU met the hosts of the tournament  KarSU-team in the final game and won again with a score of 5:1.

   Teachers, employees and university students showed great interest in the games of the tournament and actively supported  their teams. Players on the field showed a beautiful game and gentlemanly behavior. As a result, the sports festival was a success at one hundred percent.

   According to the results of the tournament, the organizing committee recognized the goalkeeper of our team A.K.Tukhmetov as the best goalkeeper of the tournament. In addition, a special prize from the organizers was presented to the forward of the KSMU team doctor of medical sciences V.N. Priz, as the age-old participant who scored the goal in the games of the championship.

   Summing up the tournament, the chief judge of the competition, the head of the Department of Physical Education of the Karaganda State University, assistant professor M.T. Bodeev thanked all the teams for their participation, congratulated the football players of the KSMU with a well-deserved victory and expressed the hope that the football tournament of the university teachers will take a worthy place in the calendar of sports events of the region.
