Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic in the Republic of Kazakhstan Philippe Martine visited KSMU with an official visit.

Apart from Mr. Ambassador, General Consul of France in Kazakhstan Patrick Renard, Attache for Technical and Scientific Cooperation Alexander Tirkuir, expert of the "Business France" organization(groups that combine the medium and small business of France) Arnoun Laba, Chief of the Protocol of the Ambassador Raushan Miyatovna Ashimbayeva, representative of the French company "SECURETECH" Arman Asylbekovich Esmurzaev and representative of the French company "IDEMIA" SymbatMunsyzbaevna Shagylbaeva took part in the meeting.

Karaganda State Medical University already has sufficient experience of cooperation with universities in France. It began in 2014, when a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed with the University of Poitiers. The main areas of cooperation: exchange of students, teachers and administrative and management personnel, cooperation in the field of education and research.

At the moment, the University of Poitiers is one of the strategic partners of KSMU. This university, like us, participates in the Erasmus Mundus project "CASEU". Within the framework of this project, KSMU was visited twice by Professors from the University of Poitiers: Paul Seit (Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology) and Bridget Wannie (Professor of Bioinformatics).

Also in 2017, Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Paul Seit was invited to work as a top manager for the management and training of employees of the biological departments of the KSMU; professor of bioinformatics Bridget Wannie - as a professor at the Department of Biology.

In October 2017, the professors organized a scientific training in the direction "Molecular Biology" for the teachers of KSMU. In addition, an interinstitutional agreement was concluded between the KSMU and the University of Poitiers in the framework of the ERASMUS + international credit mobility project for the period from 2017 to 2019. Active cooperation between KSMU and the University of Poitiers is also carried out in the field of organizing internships for our undergraduates.

During the meeting, Philippe Martine visited the CSMU Museum, followed by a meeting with the rector of the university R.S. Dosmagambetova, the provost (first vice-rector) of KSMU Vaiva Hendrikson, vice-rectors, employees and students who took part in academic mobility programs, trainings and internships in universities in France.

"At the moment, the possibility of opening a master's degree in Bioinformatics / Biomedicine in cooperation with the University of Poitiers is being discussed at KSMU. In the future, we would like to continue and expand cooperation with medical universities, research centers and clinics in France, "- said Raushan Sultanovna.

KSMU thanks the Ambassador for the productive meeting, as well as the Embassy of France, in particular Attache for Technical and Scientific Cooperation Alexander Tirkuir, for the comprehensive assistance for students and employees of our university.
