On the 6h of April the final stage of the English Olympiad was held among the 1-year students of the faculties “General medicine” and “Biology” at the Foreign Languages Department.  

The Olympiad included three rounds. The tasks of the first round were directed to the elicitation of vocabulary knowledge, checking the text comprehension and skills to find the right information in the text.

The second round included an integrated task for listening and reading (understanding oral and written texts). Participants competed in the ability of text comprehension and comparison of it with the information received from the video. According to the results of this round, 6 participants of the Olympiad failed.

The final third round was aimed at the assessment of the ability to speak a foreign language (description of funny pictures with animals), understand their partners and answer their questions.

It should be highlighted that all the participants demonstrated perfect knowledge of English and it was not easy to choose the winners for the jury members. After all scores had been calculated the jury announced the best of the best. The following students were awarded with diplomas and gifts: 

the 1^st  place – Aslan Tleuov (1-027 GM), 

the 2^nd place  – Meruyert Anassova (1-027 GM), 

the 3^rd  place – Azamat Abenov (1-001 GM). 

  Besides, the certificates of achievement and gifts were presented to: Mukagali Moldabayev (1-001 GM), Moldir Gabpassova (1-007 GM), Magzhan Batelkhan (1-007 GM).
