We, 2nd year resident-endocrinologists: Galiya Zhanaevna Serikova, Aruzat Alikharkyzy Zhanseitova, Elena Nikolaevna Evgrafova studied under the program of academic mobility in RyazSMU. This was the first case of exchange under the postgraduate education program within the framework of a contract between two HEIs.

From the very first day we received a warm welcome from the staff of the International Department of the RyazSMU E.D.Dementieva and D.K.Mosina. They acquainted us with the history of the city of Ryazan, the university, and also conducted a tour of the buildings and museums.

We passed the cycle "Pediatric endocrinology" at the Department of Faculty Therapy with courses of endocrinology, clinical pharmacology, occupational diseases on the basis of the Regional Clinical Hospital, and the Regional Children's Clinical Hospital named after N.V. Dmitrieva.

During the stay we attended lectures and classes by professor I.I.Dubinina, who gave lectures on the topics "Treatment of diabetes mellitus", "Innovative insulin preparations", "Innovative methods of acromegaly treatment", "Parathyroid gland diseases", "Cushing's disease and syndrome ", as well as lectures of associate professors S.V.Berstneva, L.V.Tverdova, V.V.Baranov, the chief pediatric endocrinologist of the Ryazan region, the head of the Pediatric Department of the Children's Clinical Hospital A.Y.Filimonova.

On the basis of the Endocrinology Department of the RCH and the Pediatric Department of the RCCH, we conducted patient curation, analysis of interesting clinical cases, and familiarization with the features of the medical service in Russia. We were trained in the skills of managing specialized high-tech endocrinological care for children: installation and control of insulin pumps, continuous monitoring of blood glucose.

Also, our attention was paid not only to the educational process, but also to cultural and mass events: a concert of the author's song, a joint concert dedicated to the holidays of February 23 and March 8. We were introduced to the traditions, historical monuments of the culture of the city of Ryazan: the Ryazan Kremlin, the Assumption Cathedral, the Cathedral Belltower, Christ Cathedral, Oleg's Palace. We visited the museum-estate of Academician I.P.Pavlov, where we learned a lot about the life and scientific path of the famous scientist.

At the end of the training period, we met with the rector of the RyazSMU, Professor Roman Evgenievich Kalinin and the Vice-rector for Academic Affairs Oleg Mikhailovich Uryasiev,  where we could express our gratitude for the new teaching experience.
