As a part of the activities for educational work with students of KSMU, the staff of the Biochemistry and Pathological Anatomy Departments met with the students of the hostel No. 2 in the form of round table. Under the guidance of the heads of departments, teachers of the departments held a talk with interactive materials on the topic: “The effect of the use of low-alcohol beverages” and “alcoholization of the youth as social problem”.

The main purpose of the talk was the promotion of the healthy lifestyle and the elimination of myth of the harmlessness of low-alcohol beverages, as “Healthy lifestyle is the key to the healthy nation” (the message of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Leader of the Nation of Nursultan Nazarbayev to the people of Kazakhstan, Strategy “Kazakhstan-2050”: the new political course of the country).

Medical and social aspects of alcoholism were activly discussed. The influence of low-alcohol beverages on the systems of our body: endocrine, nervous, cardio-vascular, genito-urinary, liver, pancreas, sex glands, blood. Biochemical bases of pathological processes and the pathoanatomical solutions of alcoholism were given. The myth about harmlessness of beer, low-alcohol beverages, wine, champagne etc. was dispelled, statistical data of alcoholisation of youth were given.

Much attention were put to the questions of distribution of beer alcoholism among young people, and its effect on reproductive health of youth.

The meeting ended with the open question for students about physical and social health of future generations.
