The International Surgery Olimpiad
On February 22, 2018 in Yekaterinburg (Russia) at the
Ural State Medical University the regional stage of the XXVll Moscow (All-Russian)
Surgery Olimpiad named after the academician M.I. Perelman took place.
Our university was represented by interns-surgeons of the 6th year: Amangeldy Dolotbek uulu (captain), Valentin Zolotarev, Pavel Tsilke Pavel and students of the 5th year of the specialty "General Medicine": Nurdaulet Abdumutalov, Nagy Kurvanaliyev, Alexandr Shabanov. The team was prepared by the Department of Surgical Diseases No. 2 under the leadership of the head of the department, professor E.M. Turgunov.
Organizers gave us a warm welcome. In the ranks of participants of the Olimpiad the friendly atmosphere reigned. The associate professor of the Anatomy Department A.A. Yakimov conducted a tour of the anatomic museum where high-quality numerous anatomic medicines were provided, here students can study in the spare time and get prepared for classes. We also liked availability of a full-function Laparoscopy Equipment by means of which, students work different types of surgeries on experimental animals and on cadavers at the Department of Operational Surgery and Topographical Anatomy
The program of the Olimpiad was very saturated, 9 types of competition
were provided: "Knitting of surgical knots",
"Neurosurgery", "Tendon
suture", "Plastic surgery", "Urology", "Abdominal
surgery", "Endoscopy", "Cardiovascular surgery", "Osteosynthesis" - to this
competition the team was prepared by the Head of the Department of General
Surgery and Traumatology department B.E.
Tuleubayev.
Our team participated in 4 competition: "Abdominal surgery", "Urology ""Tendon suture", "Osteosynthesis".
As the results of the Olimpiad the KSMU team took the following places:
2nd place – in the competition "Tendon suture": Amangeldy Dolotbek uulu, Valentin Zolotarev, Nurdaulet Abdumutalov, Alexandr Shabanov.
3rd place – in the competition "Osteosynthesis": Valentin Zolotarev, Amangeldy Dolotbek uulu, Pavel Tsilke, Nagy Kurvanaliyev.
