Training of residents of the specialty "Pediatrics" in the "University Medical Center" in the framework of the academic mobility program

From 09.02.18 to 22.02.18, within the framework of the program "Academic Mobility", residents of the 2nd year of the specialty "Pediatrics": B. M.Dautova, U.A.Zhamantaeva, D. V. Iskakova, E.A. Peristaya have passed a cycle "Topical questions in pediatrics. Systemic diseases in children "on the basis of the National Center for Maternity and Childhood in Astana in the department of rheumatology. At the beginning of the training, a briefing was given on the JCI system and on safety. Residents deepened their knowledge in the issues of differential diagnostics and treatment of rheumatological diseases, participated in morning conferences, in regular rounds with  the head of the department, attended night shifts, got acquainted with the basic statutory acts regulating the activity of a rheumatologist.

Students  participated at joint ultrasonography, MRI of joints, soft tissues, joint radiography, joint puncture, intra-articular injections, and the introduction of biological agents during  the training.  In 20.02.18. they participated in the review and heard an overview lecture in the transfusiology department for the storage of blood and blood substitutes, which included a practical part of the definition of blood type and Rh factor. Also they actively participated in the analysis of interesting clinical cases and topics: juvenile idiopathic arthritis, juvenile dermatomyositis, systemic lupus erythematosus, local scleroderma, nonspecific aortoarteritis (Takayasu's disease) along with the Head of the Rheumatology Department M.K. Asylbekova.

In general, there were created all conditions for successful work and study, there was an atmosphere of understanding and support from both teaching staff and medical centre staff, and residents. Impressions of the trip were only positive. We would like to thank the administration of the  Karaganda State Medical University for the opportunity to study under the program" Academic mobility " at the national center for motherhood and childhood in Astana, as well as the Department of Rheumatology headed by M. K. Asylbekova for the acquired experience and knowledge.
