On February 23, the 5th anniversary student festival "We are different, we are equal, we are together" was held in Karaganda State Medical University. It was held within the framework of the “Ruhani zhangyru” program and dedicated to the Day of Thanksgiving.

Representatives of forty-four nationalities are trained at the Karaganda State Medical University. And we are united by one, the most important: we are a united, friendly, professional and creative family of the KSMU!

 The festival was opened by  the Vice-Rector for Teaching and Methodical Work Viktor Petrovich Riklefs, who noted that it  is important to remember our history and preserve the national traditions of the ethnic groups that inhabit Kazakhstan nowadays. The event began with an exhibition of arts and crafts of students’ ethnic groups. Fourteen exhibition stands were decorated with national attributes, musical instruments, souvenirs and handicrafts have caused rapturous reviews of the guests of the festival.

Then the event  were continued by creative students. The festival program consisted of 6 nominations. Members of the expert commission needed to assess the skill of the teams and select winners who, by the way, will receive the festival's passing cup. The expert commission included representatives of the regional department of culture, archives and documentation, the regional Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan, KSU "Kogamdyk kelisim” apparatus of the akim of the Karaganda region and the public foundation "Center for the Study and Analysis of Social Processes".

A gift for the audience was Indian dance performed by the dance theater "Golden Step" and a song on Tajik language, performed by Alisher Sultonaliev  the 5th year student of the Tajik State Medical University named by Abuali Ibn Sino .

"It is important not to forget the history of our people. We are grateful to KSMU for contributing to the development of interethnic relations in the students’ community, raising the culture and involving the students in the national traditions of the ethnic groups living in our multinational country, "said Altynay Kasymkanovna Nurmanbaeva, chairperson of the expert commission, Head of the Department of Cultural and Recreational Work of the Regional Scientific and Methodical Center of Leisure and Folk Art. .

All participants of the festival were awarded with letters of graditude of the Rector of the KSMU Raushan Sultanovna Dosmagambetova. And the Grand Prix of the festival this year was awarded to the Department of General Surgery and Traumatology, which introduced an Armenian ethnos.
