On February 23 a student conference «Med talks» was held in KSMU. The organizers of the of the conference were the following students: Nurzhan Sabir, Temirlan Doszhanov, Ravkhat Telmanov, Diana Blyalova.

In the frame of the activity, Department of International Cooperation presented scholarship programmes for foreign students provided by the Latvia Government.

On the 3^rd of June 2013, Agreement on cooperation in the field of education, science and youth was signed between the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia. A similar agreement was signed with 24 world countries. One of the direction of agreement’s practical realization is a financing of education in the frame of academic mobility programme for students from Kazakhstan.

The Latvia Government proposes the scholarships for education during one academic year and for participation in a Summer school in one of the Latvian universities for Kazakhstan students. Herewith the students have a possibility to have free of any charges training in chosen disciplines, receive a monthly scholarship during a whole period, a place in a student dormitory is provided.

In 2017 five students from KSMU won the contest of Latvia Government scholarship award. During the Autumn semester of 2017-2018 academic year they have completed a training in Latvia University (Riga).

The students shared their experience of participating in this scholarship program, talked about the specifics of education and student life in Latvia.
