Training on epidemiology and prevention of Viral Hepatitis A

On February 19, 2018 an interdisciplinary training organized by the Department of Epidemiology and Occupational Health on the topic "Epidemiology and prevention of viral hepatitis A" was held at the KSMU. The moderators of the training were fourth year students of the specialty "Public Health" Zhuldyz Moldakhmetova, Meruert Mukhamedzhanova, Baurzhan Baimakhanov, Akylbek Sarbaev, Temirlan Ukubayev. They are future graduates, whose work activity is connected with the system of public health protection. The academic teaching staff, deputy dean of the Faculty of Public Health, Biology and Pharmacy, as well as 2-5 year students of the specialty "Public Health" and 4th year students of the specialty "Nursing" attended at the training.

Students reported about the source of the infection, the mechanism, pathways and factors of transmission of the pathogen, and this was accompanied by a slide show, followed by a quiz, which was related to the clinical image in VHA. In conclusion, a video on the prevention of viral hepatitis A was presented. The training was interesting, the participants actively participated in the discussion and complete answers were received to all asked questions.
