We are 4th year students of the “General
medicine” specialty Madina Abildayeva, Samat Aitbek, Sandjar Zhumashev, Aigerim
Imanbayeva, Madina Mergazina are Latvian State Scholarship holders and studied at
the University of Latvia from 01.09.2017- 27.01.2018 in Riga.
Students from over 40 different countries are
enrolled annually by this program.
The main building is located in a beautiful area
of the city.At our disposal there
were comfortable libraries of the University of Latvia that are available 24
hours a day and the National Library of Latvia. Practical classes were held in
the leading hospitals of the city under the guidance of highly qualified
specialists. Hospitals are light and spacious, equipped with modern equipment.
Classes were held in a meaningful way, with direct contact with patients and
discussion of clinical cases. It was very interesting for us to work in a team,
the review of clinical cases took place in the form of discussions. We attended ESN student’s organization events in
our free time in order to get acquainted with the history and culture of
Latvia. We also were able to improve our knowledge of the English language, as
well as the skills of integration, self-organization and self-knowledge.
It also should be mentioned that for a deeper
and painless passing of classes 5 months is a short period. So the difference
in the curriculum and the scale of assessment creates a certain barrier.
We think that our university is adequately
represented at such a serious level. We express our sincere gratitude to the rector
of KSMU, professor R.S. Dosmagambetova, the dean's office of the Faculty of
General Medicine and Dentistry and Department of International Cooperation.
