On the 27^th of December, on the basis of the Medical Center of the KSMU the intellectual quiz for knowledge of the basic protocols of diagnostics and treatment in cardiology took place among the residents of the third year of training of "Cardiology, including children" specialty. The initiator and organizer of the event was Gaukhar Tleubekovna Igimbayeva – the acting associate professor of the department of therapeutic disciplines, candidate of medical science, responsible for the specialty "Cardiology" at the KSMU. The jury also included: the deputy dean of the faculty of residency and further education Julia Shilina, head of the department of therapeutic disciplines Lyazzat Katayevna Ibrayeva, doctor of medical sciences acting professor Raushan Aliaskarovna Omarova. As the guests there were the employees of the department, and Medical Center of the KSMU.

Participants were divided into 4 teams by lot. At the first stage of the quiz the participants answered the theoretical questions of defining and classifying coronary heart disease, arterial hypertension, chronic heart failure, atrial fibrillation. All the teams showed the high theoretical preparedness, and already at the first stage the main favorites of the game were determined.

The first stage ended with the elimination of the team with the lowest number of points, and the audience could enjoy the creative number from residents of the first year of training Chingiz Abylkanov and Dauren Aukenov, who, in honor of the upcoming New Year holiday, sang the song "Somewhere in the whole World".

The second stage was continued by the remaining three teams that demonstrated good theoretical knowledge of the diagnosis of the above heart diseases. In addition, the teams had to show practical skills for decoding the ECG. At this stage of the competition, a serious battle broke out between the participants, as they had to show a high response speed too. According to the results of the second stage there were 2 teams, and the audience was already waiting for the second creative number performed by the resident of the 1^st  year of training Kymbat Ibraeva – a beautiful oriental dance with a gymnastics ribbon.

The third stage of the quiz allowed to evaluate the knowledge of the teams of algorithms for emergency care in cardiology, namely, to solve a complex clinical problem with verification of the preliminary diagnosis, provision of primary therapeutic measures and determination of further tactics of patient management. There was also a competition of captains, as a result of which the team got a chance to earn extra points in the fight for the main victory. In anticipation of the results of the jury, the residents of the 3^rd year of training performed their own song and showed a humorous video about the residency training, which only reinforced the festive atmosphere of the competition and allowed all participants and spectators to relax after a difficult struggle and laugh heartily.

Taking into account the final results of the game, all the teams were awarded the valuable prizes, and the jury determined 3 additional prizes –"The Best Captain" (resident of the 3^rd year of training Zhanat Koshanova), "The Best Player" (the resident of 1^st year of training Nazerke Makhadiyeva) and "Prize of the jury sympathy"(the resident of 2^nd year of training Kairzhan Smagulov). The contest event ended with a congratulatory speech by the jury members and guests of the quiz with a festive photo session.
