Program“Visiting professors” at work.
In the framework of the Visiting professors
program which is one of the directions of the academic mobility I was lucky to
be invited to the West Kazakhstan State Medical University named after M. Ospanov for the purpose of
carrying out series of lectures and a practical lessons in English on “Contemporary
history of Kazakhstan” discipline at students of 1st course of
foreign students from 27.11.17 for 07.12.17.
Since early morning of Monday on November
27 I was already waited by the Indian audience consisting of 95 students of the
different states of India including from the northern State of Kashmir. This fact
pleasantly surprised me as I in the recent past, have visited this state in
search of the grave of the world’s only historian chronicler, commander and governor
of the 16th
century, Muhamad Haidar Dulati describing the history of the formation of Kazakh khanate in detail. Students, despite earlier morning (my lessons used to start at 8:00 am) were ready for active cooperation and were vividly involved in a problem lecture.
One of my lectures was attended by professor from the Poznan University of the strategic partner of WKSMU, the Vice Rector Mazhena Rishardovna Dvoratska who took a keen interest to the considered topic “Deed of Kazakhstani people in the struggle against the fascist aggression (1941-1945)” as professor Dvoratska is interested in history of the Soviet period.
Besides, as a historian, I try to visit historical museums, memorable places with students on my lessons giving an opportunity to students “to touch” the past. One of such lesson we have carried out with students of the 124 group in museum of Aliya Moldagulova, the female heroine of the Second World War, where museum students had a great opportunity to plunge into a wartime era, and to present what it was to the young fragile girl to be a soldier and to do a such courageous act. After the visit of the museum students shared feedback from which it became clear that, they liked this lesson very much.
Besides lectures colleagues from the Department of Kazakhstan History and Social Disciplines attended also practical lesson.
I also was lucky to be present and participate as jury in the “Youth against AIDS” educational action. This action which was held in English language was organized by tutors of the 123,125 and 126 foreign groups of the “General Medicine” specialty of Department of Foreign Languages. The meeting took place in a competition format where participants of each team had to show their scientific, intellectual, creative and communicative competence. I express sincere gratitude to the Department of English Language for the opportunity to enjoy such a wonderful evening in the circle of colleagues and students.
Besides weekdays the staff of the Department, in the person of the Head of the Department Zhanar Tuleubayevna Tolepbergeni and Senior Teacher B.I. Shamsha have organized leisure in particular an exit excursion to historical places of Aktobe. Baurzhan Isayevich conducted a amazing tour on the first streets and historical city facilities.
According to the results of the academic mobility the administration of the university presented me a letter of graduate on behalf of the Rector of WKSMU M. Ospanov named after, professor E.Zh Bekmukhambetov to the Rector of KSMU, professor R.S. Dosmagambetova for the participation in “Visiting professors” the program.
I express profound gratitude to the Rector of KSMU,Professor R.S. Dosmagambetova and Department of the International Cooperation for the opportunity to participate in this program. The first experience of our joint activity stimulated both sides to further cooperation and effective work.
And of course my most sincere words of gratitude is to a specialist on work with foreign students of the Department of International Cooperation and Academic Mobility Rafik Basit thanks to whom this visit took place.
